about

On June 23, 2019, The Move Move Collaborative gathered to perform in Lovely Lane United Methodist Church in Baltimore, MD. Twelve movement artists : Andrea Carrion (Murcia, Spain), Clara Jeannotte (Montreal, Canada), Orlando Johnson (Baltimore, MD), Talbolt Johnson (Baltimore, MD), Elise Knudson (New York, NY), Kate O'Brien (Manchester, UK), Peter Redgrave (Baltimore, MD), Cristal Sabbagh (Chicago, IL), Maggie Schneider (Baltimore, MD), Laura Stokes (Pittsburgh, PA), & Matt Williams (Baltimore, MD) created a score for a dance performance.

The score was created using consensus-based decision making. The score was created in Lovely Lane's chapel. While we did adapt the score to be performed at Rhizome DC the following night, it was made for the chapel. There were eleven sections to the score - Paper, Silhouette, Procession, Group Body, Quiet, Tickling, Harmonic Resonant, Crashing, Open, Unison, and Group Body End.

The musicians on this recording are Tom Boram, April Camlin, Bonnie Lander, Jamal Moore, and Bashi Rose. They came to Lovely Lane and met the movers throughout the week. We went over the score on the day of the performance.

The recordings here are excerpts from a seventy minute performance. It was taken from the mic system on a video camera. They are a particular document of a particular moment.

I cherish the memories of this show - PR
